1. How do I know if I need therapy or that my mental health needs attention?

2. How do I book a therapy session?

If you are booking a session with us for the first time, please book a consultation first under “15 mins Consultation”. We understand reaching out can be very hard and overwhelming so we offer consultation sessions just for INR 100/-. This will be refundable on booking your first therapy session.
3. What is the 15 mins consultation all about?
The 15 mins consultation is to understand yours concerns and your expectations from therapy in brief so that we can help you choose the right therapists for you.
You can also ask any questions you might have before starting your therapy journey with us, so please don’t hesitate!
This can be a great time saver for you when it comes to choosing the right therapist.
After this session you will receive an email in 3 working days regarding the details of your assigned therapist.
Your preference will also be taken into consideration, and the therapist assigned to you will not change unless you ask for a different therapist. Please email is on mindaidtherapists@gmail.com if you need to.
4. What should I expect from my first 45 mins therapy session?
Your first session will be about a detailed understanding of your concerns and getting to know your therapist. They will ask you questions regarding your day-to-day functioning, your social life, family life, your work life, your daily routine, interpersonal relationships, and other relevant aspects.
After understanding your concerns, the therapist will help you set goals for the future sessions. Of course you can always modify or add to your goals anytime you feel like.
5. Are these sessions confidential?
We understand that your conversations with us are sensitive and we assure complete confidentiality for the information shared by you in the sessions.
In case your therapist has reason to believe that you intend to harm yourself or anyone else, they are obliged by law to inform your family or the authorities.
6. How long am I expected to participate in the therapy session?
Depending on your concerns, it takes minimum 8-12 sessions on a weekly basis to start feeling better, but it can take longer in some cases.
It is totally up to you how long you want to continue therapy and you can discuss this with your therapist in detail.
7. Do you also prescribe medication?
We are a team of Clinical Psychologists and Psychologists. We are trained for psychotherapy and hence we do not prescribe medication.
8. Do I need to prepare for my first session?
It’s always beneficial if you have your goals written. It will make the process easier, if not, our therapist will help you out to formulate the goals.
Make sure you are sitting in a clam, quiet, and private place to ensure that there are no distractions. You can use headphones to make sure your voice is clear and you can hear the therapist properly. A good internet connection will always help in avoiding any interruptions in your session.
9. If I miss a session or need to reschedule, what should I do next ?
We understand that life happens. Please inform your therapist 24 hours before the therapy session so that it can be rescheduled accordingly.
If you miss a session and could not inform your therapist, unfortunately this will be considered as availed services and we will not be able to provide any refund for the same.
10. Which are the therapeutic modalities used during the session ?
We are a group of therapists who are trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ), REBT (Rational Emotional Behaviour Therapy ), Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
We follow a client-centered and eclectic approach, meaning we might employ a range of tools and techniques from different therapeutic approaches and the latest research in the fields of psychology and neuroscience rather than drawing from one single form of therapy, as it best suits our clients.
We also use a collaborative approach, meaning the therapist and the client work together as a team and the client's feedback is extremely important in tailoring the sessions as per their individual needs.
